Quality defects and solutions of expanded feed
Quality defects and solutions of expanded feed
After years of practical experience in equipment production. It is considered that the following defects generally appear in the processing of expanded materials: 1. Uneven particle size and length; 2. There are many pores in particles; 3 particle deformation; 4. The hardness of particles is not enough; 5. The particle has poor water resistance and viscoelasticity; 6. The particle incision is irregular and oblique; 7. The expansion of particles is not high; 8. Particles are submerged; 9 particles are big at one end and small at the other; 10. The particles form a concave shape in the double cut plane; 11 particles with tail; 12 particle surface peeling.
In this paper, some problems often occurred in the processing of expanded materials are summarized, and the corresponding solutions are put forward.
1. Uneven particle size and length
Feed particles of different sizes and lengths will not only affect the beauty of the feed, but also affect its palatability and water resistance time, resulting in unnecessary waste
reason | Improvement method |
Unreasonable formwork opening | Customize reasonable mold |
Feeding is uneven, sometimes more and sometimes less | Clean and adjust the feeding mechanism, and increase the arch breaking device to make it even |
Uneven steam addition | Adjust the steam addition point and multiple points to make it even |
Uneven water addition | Adjust the water adding point and multipoint to make it even |
Uneven mixing | Adjust mixing uniformity |
Mold blockage | Stop and clean the mold |
The difference between die hole and guide hole is too large | Replace the mold |
2. Particles have poor water resistance and viscoelasticity
Water resistance of feed refers to the anti dissolution ability of feed in water, which is usually expressed by the dissolution rate of feed in water under specified conditions. The poor water resistance of feed will cause the feed to dissolve in the water before being eaten, causing unnecessary waste and polluting the water quality. Poor viscoelasticity leads to poor palatability of feed.
reason | Improvement method |
Excessive expansion rate | Reduce expansion coefficient |
Low gluten content in flour | Increase gluten content |
Insufficient starch content | Increase the starch content in the formula |
The drying temperature is too high, and the surface is deformed and charred | Reduce the drying temperature and extend the drying time |
