When the starch milk is heated, the starch particles will swell. For different kinds of starch, the swelling capacity of granules is different. The starch milk sample is heated in a water bath at a certain temperature for 30 minutes, then centrifuged, the supernatant is poured out, and the precipitated particles are weighed. The ratio of the weight of the precipitated particles after starch expansion to the weight of the original dry starch is called swelling capacity.
Disintegrants: Disintegrants are substances that rapidly break tablets into small particles in gastrointestinal fluid. In addition to slow (controlled) release tablets and some tablets for special purposes, disintegrants should be added to general tablets.
